Time ticks and ticks,
Every second the drip of a rusty tap,
Hollow desolate landscape
A desert of words held fast and bleak in the dusty space.
You could not look me in the eye
The wall held your focus for so long,
The clock chimed an interruption,
You glanced at my face, made an attempted quip,
Were you scared that I would cry, or speak truths unwanted?
Time, such time and no time,
So many rights for me no wrongs,
But for you who knows?
When silence binds your soul,
And that wall, that wall I so despise,
Remains unpeeling
Tick tick tick...
I love you
To distraction
What else can I ask of you
Love me back, perhaps less than some,
Just for myself, and that will do.
I Stand Alone
